Script Analysis for Dialogue, Character, Theme and Scenes
AIScriptReader reads your entire screenplay and answers the questions you actually have about the draft — which scene is weakest, where the dialogue and pacing break, what your characters want and fear, what emotional journey you have created, and what to rewrite first. Paid reports from $39, no subscription.
Coverage Report $39 · Development Notes $39 · Combo Report $78
Start With the Question You're Asking
Every screenplay analysis module below is part of a paid report, and each one links to the page that explains it in full.
What's my weakest scene?
Development Notes select the load-bearing scenes and analyse each one for objective, stakes, necessity, transitions, and pacing. Instead of a global verdict that the second act sags, you get the specific scenes carrying the sag and the reason each one is soft.
Scene analysis →Does my dialogue carry subtext, or explain the plot?
Dialogue feedback marks on-the-nose lines, interchangeable character voices, exchanges that relay information instead of pursuing a want, and exposition dumps — each tied to the scene it came from, with rewrite guidance for that line.
Dialogue feedback →What do my characters want, and what are they afraid of?
Character analysis names each major character's goal, their character fears and desires, and the contradiction between the two — then flags where the plot never puts that contradiction under pressure.
Character analysis →What emotional journey have I created?
The Development Notes report tracks the emotional journey across the draft: overall impression, where momentum builds and stalls, scored benchmarks, and whether the change a character undergoes is earned by the scenes between the first and last time we see them.
Development notes →What is this screenplay actually about?
Theme analysis identifies the dramatic question the script is asking, the motifs that recur, and whether theme and action stay aligned — or whether a character states the meaning a scene should have implied.
Theme analysis →What do I fix first?
Every report ends in prioritised, executable rewrite notes: what to cut, what to restructure, which beat to move — mapped to scene, sequence, act, and whole story so the analysis becomes a revision plan.
Rewrite plan →Is this ready to send out?
The 11-section Coverage Report is the document a producer or contest reader would expect: logline, synopsis, characters, plot, themes, strengths and weaknesses, market potential, recommendation, conclusion.
Coverage report →AIScriptReader and ScriptReader.ai Are Not the Same Purchase
Both are AI script analysis tools. They answer different questions, and one of them is not always us.
Choose ScriptReader.ai when
You want a quick scan of a draft, a lower-cost check before committing to a full read, or a fast second opinion on a script you already know well. It is an established script reader AI and it does that job.
Choose AIScriptReader when
You want depth you can rewrite against: an 11-section coverage report, 7-section scene-by-scene development notes, dialogue and character analysis grounded in your own pages, and prioritised rewrite notes. It is a paid report, not a scan.
We are not claiming to be cheaper, and we do not analyse your screenplay for nothing — reports are $39 for coverage or development notes and $78 for the combo. See the full ScriptReader.ai comparison.
How the Analysis Cluster Fits Together
The modules above are not separate products. They are sections of two paid reports. The Coverage Report runs 11 sections and is the document you hand to someone else. The Development Notes report runs 7 more, including scene-by-scene analysis, and is the document you rewrite from. The Combo Report is both.
Inside them, dialogue feedback, character analysis of fears and desires, and theme analysis each carry their own notes rather than stopping at a score, and each one ends in a rewrite plan you can take straight into the next draft.
If you are still comparing tools rather than uploading today, the AI script reader overview explains the product end to end, script reader covers what an AI reader does compared with a human one, and script analysis AI goes deeper on what separates real analysis from a surface scan.

What is script analysis?
Script analysis is a structured read of a full screenplay that evaluates it the way a professional reader would: concept and structure, scene construction, dialogue, character motivation, theme, pacing, and market potential. AIScriptReader performs that analysis on your uploaded draft and returns it as a written report — a Coverage Report, a Development Notes report, or both.
Which script analysis should I start with?
If you need the document other people read — a producer, a contest, a manager — start with the Coverage Report. If you are about to rewrite and want scene-by-scene notes, dialogue feedback, character work, and a prioritised revision list, start with Development Notes. The Combo Report is both in a single pass at $78.
Does the script analysis cover dialogue, character, and theme separately?
Yes. Dialogue feedback covers subtext, character voice, conflict, and exposition. Character analysis covers goals, fears and desires, contradiction, agency, and arc progression. Theme analysis covers the dramatic question, motifs, and theme / action alignment. Each has its own section in the report and its own rewrite notes rather than a single blended score.
How is this different from ScriptReader.ai?
They are aimed at different moments. ScriptReader.ai is an established AI script analysis product and a reasonable choice for a quick scan, a lower-cost check on a draft, or a fast second opinion. AIScriptReader is built for depth you rewrite against — an 11-section coverage report, 7-section scene-by-scene development notes, and prioritised rewrite guidance. We are not claiming to be cheaper. Our full side-by-side is on the ScriptReader.ai alternative page.
Is there a free script analysis?
No. Every analysis of your screenplay is a paid report: $39 for a Coverage Report, $39 for Development Notes, $78 for the Combo Report, pay-as-you-go with no subscription. Our screenplay writer tool is available without charge for drafting, but we do not analyse your script for nothing and there is no capped or teaser report.
How long does a script analysis take?
Minutes, not days. You upload a screenplay PDF, the AI reads the whole draft rather than an excerpt, and the finished report is available to read and download — typically in around ten minutes.
Can I compare two drafts?
Yes. Because the same evaluation framework is applied every time, running a report on a revised draft and comparing it to the earlier one shows whether a change landed. Two different human readers' reactions are not comparable in that way; the reports are.
